I used to Dj down tempo rooms in SF during the late 90's. I always wanted to play the Big Room but House Music claimed the dance floors. People would dance their ass off and sing with the songs. I remember some of my homies from Red Melon Recods (Jay, Fred, Dan) gave me a shot but I had to make a house mix for approval...Here it is!
I spun house for a hot sec. but break beats, Drum and Bass and hip hop was my style. I joined the Space Cowboys in '99 and fell hard for the Breaks along with encouragement from my best friend, Uncle Dave. He bought me a CD recorder(that i still use) to make mix cd's instead of tapes. Thanks buddy!

I recorded this all vinyl mix in 2000. I can recall lining all my non sleeved records in a row with notes everywhere. One of the few mixes I nailed in one take.
It's got about 50 tracks and 2 were older than 1992 thus "2 over 92"
I used to throw this mix off the Space Cowboys Unimog at San Francisco's first Love Parade.
Fans of Golden Year Hip Hop...this is for You!!
Enjoy the Memories like me.

Nice Deep House, Lounge Mix for the Holidays!
Very nostalgic underground breakbeat mix I did. I remember this mix greatly. I was at Burningman on a tuesday in 2004. Sound camps were just starting to pop up on the esplanade. Space Cowboys(my crew) only did 2 parties. I was hungry for more. I hopped on my bike to see what else was out there. Illuminaughty was a few pedals away. I cruised into camp and talked to a sound guy. He tells me that tuesday nights was "trance night". I agreed. And....I said I was a trance dj....thus getting a spot on the line-up as an opener. I was so giddy! I rode back to camp to tell the news. Friends were shocked that I got on the line up because I don't spin trance. I told them I lied. Cruised back at dark to open my set and a wicked dust storm ripped the dj booth a new one. Whatever...the show must go on...I started my set, dust completely covering my LP's and watched the needle clean as it rode the grooves. I miss vinyl....anyway...This is my performance set...I played it twice that night cause other dj's did not want to go on after I played the hottest nu-skool funky breaks set of my life. Definitely not Trance.
This mix is dedicated to my friend Bryant Key. I hope these beats help reproduce those white blood cells and get those numbers up! This was my performance set for The Big Bounce Festival on June 17th in Belden, CA. I picked up my friend Tim. We drove 3 hours that saturday to the event for a quick turn and burn. I have never been to this campsite before and was really impressed! My set was on the beach stage overlooking the Feather River. People were jumping off the bridge into the river and I gave myself a wicked headache from a bottle of Malibu....thanks Brass Tax! - Mancub Track List 1.
