All vinyl Hip Hop mash-ups and madness......mostly b-sides and bad ass jams from the late 90's....I nailed this one in shot in my old basement in Emeryville with Kirk and Bennett! Love my homies and love this mix but love my wife the most!
Enjoy these phat beats and don't download or hate on my mixes please.

This mix was for me and my homies....especially you Johnny!

True story....
I get a phone call during the first pitch of game 7 SF Giants vs St.L. Cardinals game.
Expecting it to be Termanix (making an appointment) but it was Another Planet.
They asked if "Mancub" was available to open for Crystal Castles....I said Sure!! umm...when?
in 1 hour.....
I hung up, ran to work from The Missouri Lounge to grab my DJ gear, went home, changed, drove to Fox, sound checked, met band, watched some of the game backstage and thought....what am I going to play? I ask Crystal Castles Manager.... the band wants "dark electronica" ...not really my style but I own lots of music.
I ran on stage, grabbed my laptop and put a set together in 10 minutes.
Sad news; I did not record my live set but decided to rerecord it at home.
Enjoy--Chip

Mix of 80's and 80's remixes

June 05, 2012 11:05 AM PDT

I got my nickname "Chip" from the Postman. I always wanted to be a postman. You get to walk around neighborhoods, talk to people, feed dogs treats, pet cats, watch squirrels run all crazy....
This mix delivers-----
Funky House, House Breaks and Nu Skool Breaks.
Enjoy

This is a mix for my homie, Simon and all friends that grew up in the late 80's and early 90's. This is full of New Jack Swing, Freestyle, Hip House and beats that helped get dance music to where it is today.
Blast from the Past!
Enjoy on your 40th b-day or Summer BBQ

Thanks again Simon....especially for that prized package in Vegas for my Bach party

Cheers from the Cub

Burningman (since 2001).....I used to make a mix, burn a couple hundred copies ,then petal after Art Cars and hand the driver a Mancub of Space Cowboys Mix....hoping to be played while they drive around the playa. This was my ploy to get the Art Car and party peeps to the Hoedown on friday night. It worked pretty well over the years. Sometimes multiple cars could be heard in the distance playing this mix. This mix almost didnt happen. I was running out of time before Ne and I had to pack up for the journey to the playa. I had enough time for one more go. If I didn't have a mix for this years Burningman it would be a Belly Flop.

This mix is for the Drum and Bass heads out there!
My first years of Djing was all about Hip Hop then came trip hop and Jungle All genres were connected and really fun to mix. I was constantly searching for Jump Up(Drum and Bass) and spent many of years crate digging from New York to SF. I used to host a D&B night at Club SOMA in Boulder when it first opened. These were some of my favorite jams. This mix was dubbed from a cassette to a cd in 2000. It has been chilling in the Cub vaults. Enjoy!

I used to Dj down tempo rooms in SF during the late 90's. I always wanted to play the Big Room but House Music claimed the dance floors. People would dance their ass off and sing with the songs. I remember some of my homies from Red Melon Recods (Jay, Fred, Dan) gave me a shot but I had to make a house mix for approval...Here it is!
I spun house for a hot sec. but break beats, Drum and Bass and hip hop was my style. I joined the Space Cowboys in '99 and fell hard for the Breaks along with encouragement from my best friend, Uncle Dave. He bought me a CD recorder(that i still use) to make mix cd's instead of tapes. Thanks buddy!

I recorded this all vinyl mix in 2000. I can recall lining all my non sleeved records in a row with notes everywhere. One of the few mixes I nailed in one take.
It's got about 50 tracks and 2 were older than 1992 thus "2 over 92"
I used to throw this mix off the Space Cowboys Unimog at San Francisco's first Love Parade.
Fans of Golden Year Hip Hop...this is for You!!
Enjoy the Memories like me.

Nice Deep House, Lounge Mix for the Holidays!

October 07, 2011 10:58 AM PDT

Very nostalgic underground breakbeat mix I did. I remember this mix greatly. I was at Burningman on a tuesday in 2004. Sound camps were just starting to pop up on the esplanade. Space Cowboys(my crew) only did 2 parties. I was hungry for more. I hopped on my bike to see what else was out there. Illuminaughty was a few pedals away. I cruised into camp and talked to a sound guy. He tells me that tuesday nights was "trance night". I agreed. And....I said I was a trance dj....thus getting a spot on the line-up as an opener. I was so giddy! I rode back to camp to tell the news. Friends were shocked that I got on the line up because I don't spin trance. I told them I lied. Cruised back at dark to open my set and a wicked dust storm ripped the dj booth a new one. Whatever...the show must go on...I started my set, dust completely covering my LP's and watched the needle clean as it rode the grooves. I miss vinyl....anyway...This is my performance set...I played it twice that night cause other dj's did not want to go on after I played the hottest nu-skool funky breaks set of my life. Definitely not Trance.

September 23, 2011 11:09 PM PDT

This mix is dedicated to my friend Bryant Key. I hope these beats help reproduce those white blood cells and get those numbers up! This was my performance set for The Big Bounce Festival on June 17th in Belden, CA. I picked up my friend Tim. We drove 3 hours that saturday to the event for a quick turn and burn. I have never been to this campsite before and was really impressed! My set was on the beach stage overlooking the Feather River. People were jumping off the bridge into the river and I gave myself a wicked headache from a bottle of Malibu....thanks Brass Tax! - Mancub Track List 1.
